Screen Shot 2013-04-10 at 10.30.41 AMEgypt Cancer Network 57357 and AFNCI (ECN), a U.S.based tax deductible non- profit 501C3 organization in operation for nearly two years, has recently donated medicine and chemotherapy drugs to the Fakkous Center for Cancer and Allied Diseases located in Fakkous,Sharkia Governorate in the Delta Region of Egypt . This donation falls within the framework of ECN’s mission to support and provide resources to Egyptian hospitals and non-profit organizations focused on cancer in the areas of patient care, scientific advancement and education. Among the organizations ECN sponsors are the Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (CCHE) and the Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute (AFNCI).Since its inception, Egypt Cancer Network has been receiving considerable support from patriotic Egyptian immigrants in the U.S. who generously donate their time and money to be of service to their motherland.

Fakkous Cancer Center was established in 1987 as part of a medical NGO society. It is a successful model for cancer fight and prevention in low resource areas for others to follow. This 80 in-patient bed rural center has facilities for diagnosis and treatment of adult and pediatric patients; with 3 operating rooms, chemo and radiotherapy facilities, 9 ICU beds, labs and outpatient clinics. The Center provides follow-up care in homes, educational and screening programs in surrounding villages and social support program for patients’ families. The Center was instrumental in generating employment and upgrading medical services in the region.
