Cairo, Egypt, 22/02/2025 — Renowned economist and philanthropist Mohamed El Erian and his family have made another donation to the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357 of Egypt. Their generous new contribution amounts to 10 million Egyptian pounds, made through the Egypt Cancer Network 57357, USA.

Upon returning from a recent trip to Egypt, El Erian shared a touching experience, stating, “One of the highlights of my trip was someone who did not know my association with 57357 and ECN telling me how effective the hospital was in curing a child they knew. The words they used to describe not just the medical attention that the child received, but also the human attention, were heartwarming.”

Mohamed El Erian expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you all for supporting this very special institution and for supporting ECN. Both are going from strength to strength.”

The donation will be allocated to the renovation of the ICU unit to increase its capacity from 20 to 29 rooms and upgrading the equipment. This follows El Erian’s last year’s donation, which initiated the start of the New BMT unit, increasing its capacity from 9 to 27 rooms. The New BMT unit is set to open within two months.

The donation aims to further the hospital’s mission of providing top-notch medical care at no cost to the patients, making a significant impact on the lives of children battling cancer and their families.
