2011-09-06 13.02.49During the days of Eid Al-Adha (the feast), volunteers gather at 57357 to play with the children, keep them company and celebrate the feast.

One of the volunteers, Ahmed Abd El-Aziz says;

 “My best days ever are when I spend the feast with the children at 57357. After finishing the feast’s prayer in the early morning, I go directly to the Hospital loaded with the balloons to celebrate with the children.  I will never forget that day when my patient-friend Shahd’s eye widened when I came in with the large number of balloons for her.”

Recalling some of his most cherished memories with Shahd, Ahmed explains:  “She was the first patient I ever visited when I began to volunteer, she was an 8 year old girl. I will never forget that day when I spent 8 continuous hours with her, playing, coloring and narrating stories and telling jokes. In front of her father, she would pretend to be sleeping, but once I knocked on her door she would wake up… I also cannot forget 5 year old Fatmah, who was refusing to eat, but after I initiated a competition between her and her room-mate, she immediately began to eat, even a little too much!  Fatmah was feeling a little jealous because of my friendship with Shahd, while Shahd was pretending to be too old to feel any jealousy”.

“57357 changed my outlook on life. It gave me the best example for a financially sound and trustworthy charitable organization. I feel really happy when I can convince people to donate to 57357 for it to continue to provide the best quality care and update its technology to cure the children with cancer for free. 57357 has taught me that nothing is impossible, as it was built completely from donations and planned by faithful individuals. It gave me a great feeling of self-worth and a goal to achieve. I dream of building a similar NGO for homeless children,” Ahmed said.

Hospital 57357is  grateful to its volunteers and donors who make our children’s happiness possible .Happy Feast !
